
This is a newly created role designed to support warehouse operations by combining hands-on training, process optimization, and daily operational assistance. The Warehouse Training and Efficiency Specialist will serve as the primary trainer for new hires, consultant on best practices and technology implementation, and key contributor to improving employee efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall workflow. While focused on training and continuous improvement, the role includes regular hands-on duties such as picking and packing orders to maintain operational flow and provide practical, floor-level insights.
The position reports directly to the Shop Foreman and collaborates closely with warehouse leadership to drive measurable improvements in productivity, safety, and cost savings.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Training & Onboarding
• Develop, deliver, and update training programs for new hires on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, modern technology, and operational best practices.
• Conduct hands-on training sessions, shadowing, and evaluations to ensure new team members achieve proficiency quickly.
• Serve as the main point of contact for retraining, refresher courses, and addressing skill gaps among existing staff.
• Process Improvement & Consulting
• Assess current warehouse processes, workflows, and technology utilization to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Recommend and implement standardized procedures, and process enhancements to boost employee efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Advise the Shop Foreman and management on system implementations, technology rollouts, and data-driven improvements; track key performance metrics to measure impact.
• Lead or support process mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Operational Support
• Assist the Shop Foreman with daily warehouse oversight, team coordination, and issue resolution.
• Actively participate in picking, packing, and order fulfillment during peak periods, high volume, or as needed to support the team and maintain firsthand knowledge of frontline challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards during all activities.
• Other Duties
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions, process changes, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like inventory, shipping, receiving to align improvements.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Foreman to support overall warehouse goals.
