Job Description

Warehouse & Operations Management (Approx. 50%)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the warehouse management team and hourly associates, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all daily warehouse operations to ensure KPIs for productivity, quality, and service levels are consistently met or exceeded (e.g., on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy).
  • Develop and manage the annual warehouse operating budget, controlling costs and driving efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counting and physical inventories, to ensure high accuracy in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Utilize data and analytics to identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including transportation, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics.

Automation Project Leadership (Approx. 50%)

  • Develop and execute a multi-year automation strategy and roadmap for the distribution center.
  • Lead the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from initial concept and business case development to vendor selection, implementation, testing, and go-live.
  • Conduct research and stay current on emerging warehouse automation technologies, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), goods-to-person systems, robotic picking, and advanced sortation.
  • Prepare detailed ROI analyses and present compelling business cases to senior leadership to secure project funding and approval.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for automation vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders (IT, Engineering, Finance).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
  • Lead change management efforts, including developing training programs and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes by the warehouse team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment center management.

Leadership role with direct responsibility for managing teams and operational budgets.

Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels of the organization.
