Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Senior Urban Designer to join the growing Urban, Campus & Cultural team. The Urban, Campus & Cultural team brings together Cooper Robertson’s 45-year legacy in urban design, campus planning, and cultural design with Corgan’s global platform. Corgan's Urban Design Studio partners with universities, public agencies, institutions, and private developers to create transformative plans for campuses, districts, mixed-use communities, cultural destinations, and civic environments. Our work bridges strategy, design, and implementation. Work on diverse project types alongside a team of creative, highly motivated professionals who collaborate to deliver outstanding results. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the team’s wide range of work and motivated to take on increasing responsibility to expand their expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of master plans, feasibility studies, urban design frameworks, and other planning documents from concept through completion
  • Develop compelling visual materials including diagrams, plans, renderings, digital massing models, and presentations to communicate design concepts and planning strategies
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, planners, and multidisciplinary teams to create integrated, context-sensitive design solutions
  • Research zoning, land use, development patterns, mobility, and emerging urban design trends to inform project strategies and recommendations
  • Lead the development of client presentations, workshops, stakeholder engagement, proposals, and other project communications
  • Share knowledge, mentor emerging professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of Corgan’s urban design and planning practice

Qualifications

  • This role is an in-office position
  • Degree from a NAAB-accredited architecture program or equivalent required
  • 15+ years of experience in urban design, planning, and architecture
  • Professional registration in the US or actively pursuing registration
  • The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented, highly motivated individual seeking progressively more responsible assignments on a variety of projects
  • Display strong design portfolio showing strengths in design, planning, and production
  • Experience with Rhino and other 3D and GIS software preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
  • Confident presentation ability
  • Candidates should be experienced with leading project deliverables and guiding clients through project solicitation and contract management

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $210,000 annually – New York locations only

The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in New York only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. In addition, a base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
