PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $128,900.00-$157,500.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $99,900.00 - $186,400.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

As a Sr. Trust Officer, you'll play a meaningful role in helping individuals, families, beneficiaries, and organizations achieve confidence in their financial legacy and long-term goals. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex trust, estate, fiduciary, and wealth planning matters while building lasting relationships rooted in expertise, service, and trust. Your ability to navigate fiduciary responsibilities, anticipate client needs, and deliver thoughtful solutions will directly contribute to the financial well-being of those you serve while helping grow and strengthen BECU Trust Services.

*** This is a hybrid role with onsite presence required at our Tukwila headquarters Tuesdays through Thursdays, with remote work available Mondays and Fridays. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change based on business needs, organizational requirements, and satisfying performance expectatioiuu9ns.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Provide Fiduciary Administration: Administer personal trust and estate accounts, including Testamentary and Intervivos Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Life Insurance Trusts, Charitable Trusts, Private Family Foundations, and other agency accounts while ensuring exceptional client service and fiduciary care.
  • Build Trusted Client Relationships: Manage a portfolio of clients by fostering strong relationships, providing proactive guidance, and identifying opportunities to deepen engagement with BECU Trust Services.
  • Ensure Regulatory and Fiduciary Compliance: Uphold fiduciary responsibilities by administering accounts in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Partner on Investment Strategies: Collaborate with Investment Officers to establish investment objectives, goals, and strategies that align with clients' needs, risk tolerance, and long-term plans.
  • Apply Trust and Estate Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of trust and estate administration, taxation, investments, retirement planning, and estate planning to support clients and beneficiaries.
  • Deliver Concierge and Specialized Services: Administer ancillary Concierge Services and help clients access resources that enhance their overall experience with BECU Trust Services.
  • Communicate Investment Philosophy: Help clients understand Trust Services' approach to equity and fixed income investments, asset allocation, and the overall investment process.
  • Drive Business Growth: Identify, develop, and cultivate new business opportunities through internal partnerships, external networking, and referrals while uncovering solutions that meet client needs.
  • Consult with Prospective Clients: Meet with prospective clients to understand their goals, define trust and investment needs, address questions, and provide guidance on available services.
  • Interpret Governing Documents: Analyze trust documents, governing instruments, and applicable laws to establish and maintain accurate account records and administration practices.
  • Collaborate with Professional Advisors: Partner with attorneys, accountants, tax professionals, and other advisors to address legal, tax, and fiduciary matters impacting clients and beneficiaries.
  • Administer Retirement and Investment Accounts: Serve as a knowledgeable resource for IRA and Investment Management accounts, helping ensure effective account administration and client support.
  • Support Real Estate Trust Relationships: Administer real estate-related trust holdings and provide expertise on associated fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Educate and Advocate: Represent BECU Trust Services by speaking at, presenting, or leading seminars focused on trust, estate, and fiduciary-related topics.
  • Champion Operational Excellence: Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies and Information Protection requirements while supporting team and organizational objectives.
  • Contribute Where Needed: Take on additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the evolving needs of the team and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent educational or work related experience.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in the areas of trust, estate planning, administration, investments, and/or business development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of Trust Certificate and/or CTFA preferred, or continuing education towards CTFA designation.
  • Experience administering, managing, or advising on Special Needs Trusts and/or Settlement Trusts, including knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities, beneficiary needs, trust distributions, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Affiliation in estate and trust organizations.
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand complex trust agreements and understand the appropriate administration of these trusts.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and serves as a resource and mentor for other associates.
