Supermicro Computer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate to take on the responsibilities of Senior Thermal Engineer. The position will be responsible for the thermal architecture, design, analysis, and validation of thermal technologies within networking server and data storage products. The role utilizes and champions a design process based on estimating, simulating, and testing the thermal performance of new products and architectures. The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership skill to lead the junior engineer and possess strong fundamental background in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and the implementation of thermal solutions in enterprise electronics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop next-generation CDU product and liquid cooling solution for next generation platforms.
  • Perform engineering validation and design verification, functional testing, and design verification throughout the CDU development process.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of L11 rack level liquid cooling solution, including CDU, popping, manifold and overall compatibility.
  • Support product deployment at customer site, resolve technical issuer during installation and commissioning, and ensure successful implementation of liquid cooling solution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and customers to support product development, deployment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering or others related engineering field
  • Basic knowledge of thermal management fluid dynamic and heat transfer theory.
  • Experience in liquid cooling systems, or related thermal product development is preferred.
  • Familiar with engineering validation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving is a plus
  • Good communication skill and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willing to travel for customer deployment and on-site technical support when required
