Experience Level 4+ Years

Job Title: MDM Quality Engineer / Test Engineer –

We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer with experience in Master Data Management testing to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of our MDM platform. You'll be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies across data models, integrations, match & merge rules, workflows, and data quality processes — ensuring that master data is accurate, consistent, and fit for business use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test strategies and test plans for MDM implementations, including unit, functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Validate Reltio data models, entity configurations, relationships, attributes, and reference data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Test match & merge rules, survivorship logic, and deduplication processes to ensure golden record quality meets business expectations.
  • Validate integration pipelines (batch and real-time) between Reltio and source/target systems (ERP, CRM, data lakes, APIs) for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Perform data quality testing — profiling, validation, and reconciliation — across source systems and the Reltio MDM hub.
  • Test Reltio workflows, business rules, stewardship processes, and exception handling scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression and data validation testing using tools such as Python, SQL, or Selenium.
  • Perform API testing of Reltio REST APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Conduct performance and load testing on Reltio integrations and platform configurations.
  • Log, track, and manage defects through the full lifecycle using JIRA or similar tools, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and developers to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Validate data migration activities — pre-migration, mid-migration, and post-migration — ensuring data integrity and completeness.
  • Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and support business stakeholders during testing cycles.
  • Develop and maintain test documentation including test cases, test scripts, test data, and test summary reports.
  • Contribute to the definition and enforcement of QA best practices within MDM projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in software or data quality engineering, with at least 1–2 years of exposure to MDM platforms (Reltio preferred, or Informatica MDM, Semarchy, SAP MDG, Stibo STEP, or similar).
  • Hands-on understanding of Reltio MDM concepts — entities, relationships, match & merge, survivorship, hierarchies, and workflows — sufficient to design meaningful test cases.
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and querying across relational/cloud databases.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or similar API testing tools.
  • Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ETL/integration testing (validating data pipelines, transformation logic, and data flow accuracy).
  • Experience with data quality testing concepts — completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and uniqueness.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define test scenarios from complex business and data requirements.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working within sprint-based delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, PyTest, or similar) and scripting in Python or Groovy.
  • Exposure to performance/load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, or similar) for MDM and integration pipelines.
  • Reltio platform certification or formal training is a plus.
  • Experience testing Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or GCP data platforms integrated with Reltio.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) for automated testing workflows.
  • Experience with data migration testing in large-scale MDM implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of data privacy/compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA) and their impact on data quality and testing requirements.
  • Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare, retail, or financial services.

Key Competencies

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong data analytical mindset.
  • Ability to understand complex data relationships and identify edge cases in match/merge scenarios.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across data engineering, business, and architecture teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple test deliverables across concurrent project tracks.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, raising issues early, and proposing pragmatic testing solutions.
