ANDRITZ has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Technical Sales Engineer – Digital Solutions to support the growth and delivery of automation and digitalization solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, helping identify operational challenges and develop innovative automation and digital solutions that improve performance, reliability, and business outcomes.

You will play a key role in supporting business development activities, evaluating customer requirements, developing technical solutions, and providing pre- and post-sales support. Working closely with sales, engineering, product management, and customer teams, you will help drive customer satisfaction, technology adoption, and long-term business growth while ensuring alignment with industry standards, company policies, and customer expectations.

What You Will Be Doing

Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Serve as the technical liaison between customers, sales teams, and engineering teams throughout the sales and project lifecycle
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop automation and digitalization solutions aligned with operational and business objectives
  • Provide technical support for product and service selection, system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and solution reviews for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support pre-sales activities, including technical evaluations, quotations, proposals, bid responses, and customer visits
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide customer feedback and identify opportunities for product enhancements and new solution offerings
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and growth opportunities
  • Work closely with sales, business development, product management, and project teams to drive market expansion and business growth
  • Support the development and promotion of digital solutions including process simulation, digital twins, advanced process control, operator training simulators, soft sensors, and real-time optimization technologies
  • Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, industry conferences, and technical events as a technical subject matter expert
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, presentations, and customer-facing materials
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and company policies in all technical activities
  • Adhere to company safety standards and promote a strong safety culture

What We're Looking For

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, automation, industrial digitalization, or a related technical field
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, process control systems, industrial networking, motion control, robotics, and industrial communication protocols
  • Expertise in industrial digital solutions including process simulation, operator training simulators, digital twins, advanced process control (APC), real-time optimization (RTO), and soft sensor technologies
  • Experience with programming languages and industrial automation tools, including Python, C++, PLC programming, and Ladder Logic
  • Proven ability to analyze customer requirements and develop technically sound and commercially viable solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Experience working within global or matrix organizations
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support customer and business development activities

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting customers in heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience working with system integrators, EPC contractors, or industrial automation suppliers
  • Knowledge of advanced process control, industrial optimization, and data-driven operational improvement methodologies
  • Experience developing technical and commercial proposals for industrial customers
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, ABB, Emerson, Yokogawa, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric
  • Experience working with digital twin, simulation, AI/ML, or predictive analytics applications
  • Experience working within the Middle East or GCC region

Language & Location Requirements

  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a strong asset
  • Position based in Saudi Arabia, with travel throughout the Kingdom, the Middle East region, and internationally as required
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required professional registrations or work authorizations applicable to Saudi Arabia
