As a Senior Hardware technical program manager (HW TPM) based in China, you will engage with inter-disciplinary teams located in both the US and China to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with and assist the US TPM to drive key aspects of engineering build execution, test and delivery. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
As a member of the project core team, you will be responsible for driving cross-functional communication within region and will be the focal point of contact in China for all program-level engineering activities. Close communication and teamwork with the US TPM will be required to ensure teams in the US and China are progressing according to schedule. You will be responsible for closely monitoring and driving China side activities including board & system engineering build readiness, build execution & management, and device shipment for engineering development builds. Working closely with the US TPM & Operations Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving Manufacturers to ensure schedules remain on track and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The Role
· Program-level focal point for all China side engineering activities
· Drive execution of projects with China teams and Manufacturers
· Communicate program status outwardly to cross functional teams and executives
· Maintain close communication with the US TPM to ensure issue resolution and schedule changes are clearly communicated throughout the organization
· Drive and track engineering build readiness & execution
· Travel domestically and internationally to Manufacturers as needed
· Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- Experience in oral and written communication in English
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Familiar with die-casting and injection process
- Experience in delivering tight schedule product development by leading cross fun
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience leading global teams
- PMP certificate
- Proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, managing issues and tracking bugs
- Experience managing the introduction of new technologies
- Solid understanding of product development process
- Strong understanding of technical requirements for technology integration
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Product Design, Industrial Design, Commodity Management, Quality, Reliability, Compliance and Senior Leadership.
- Self-starter that can identify issues and craft solutions with minimal guidance
