Job Description

The Senior Technical Manager, will be responsible for managing the design, delivery, and operational effectiveness of the global Workday platform.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role that combines deep Workday expertise with people management responsibilities. The role serves as the senior technical authority across Workday architecture, security, reporting, business processes, and platform configuration, while working closely with a team of specialists and consultants to deliver scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions.

Partnering with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, HR and Cybersecurity teams, this role helps shape the Workday roadmap, manages technical priorities, and ensures solutions align with both business objectives and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical specialists to design and implement Workday solutions across security, reporting, business processes, and platform configuration.
  • Manage the delivery of complex enhancements, releases, upgrades, and platform initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and assurance for solution design, architecture reviews, troubleshooting, and critical issue resolution.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Workday specialists and consultants.
  • Maintain platform performance, security, compliance, stability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and promote technical standards, best practices, and sustainable solution patterns.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into practical and scalable solutions.
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes across the Workday platform.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of hands-on Workday experience across implementation, configuration, and support.
  • 15+ years of enterprise technology experience spanning enterprise applications, platform delivery, and solution architecture.
  • Deep expertise in Workday Security, Reporting, Business Processes, Compensation, Talent, and Advanced Configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams while maintaining hands-on involvement in solution design and delivery.
  • Experience working within complex global and matrixed organisations.
  • Relevant Workday certifications across technical and/or functional domains.

Comfortable contributing to architecture discussions, solving complex platform challenges, guiding technical direction, and managing a team while ensuring the Workday platform continues to meet evolving business needs.
