What work will you perform?
The Sr. Talent Development Specialist plays a strategic role in developing and managing employee talent programs, leadership and professional development, new hire training, and functional training to support building workforce capability and support business objectives. The ideal candidate can collaborate with leaders on defining and scoping development needs as well as the necessary instructional designer skills to design and develop learning offerings. You will have the opportunity to facilitate training across the organization as needed. This role will give the ideal candidate the opportunity to impact a broad range of learning and development areas.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage talent and learning development project deliverables across all phases of the program lifecycle, including work effort estimation, risk management, change management, and reporting progress against defined milestones.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct needs-assessments that define specific performance gaps and measurable learning outcomes.
• Identify and implement comprehensive learning and development programs aligned to Landstar’s strategic goals, values, and leadership and professional development competencies.
• Facilitate virtual and in-person training for new employees, experienced staff, and management.
• Develop and/or curate engaging individual and group learning programs informed by adult learning theory.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and delivery methods to ensure desired learning objectives and business goals are achieved.
Required Minimum Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Four years of experience in talent development, learning development, or related fields
Preferred Experience and Education:
• Master’s degree
• Three years of experience managing and delivering corporate leadership, professional development, and/or coaching programs.
• Three years of experience in instructional design, including use of rapid eLearning tools such as Storyline, Rise, and/or Camtasia
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage juggling multiple projects
• simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to conduct SME interviews and project meetings, make presentations to stakeholders, and communicate with employees at all levels within the organization.
