About the Role

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Senior System Test Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our Precision Fastening Tools and Controllers. In this role, you will test new and existing products, investigate customer-reported issues, and collaborate with engineering and service teams to deliver high-quality solutions and exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system test plans and test cases for hardware and software products.
• Validate product performance, functionality, and compliance with requirements.
• Reproduce, analyze, and troubleshoot customer-reported issues and support root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and service teams to verify fixes and improve product quality.
• Create and maintain test documentation, bug reports, and test results.
• Support continuous improvement of testing processes and automation capabilities.
• Travel to customer sites as needed to evaluate product performance and diagnose issues in real-world environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in system testing of network-connected products.
• Experience testing software functionality and communications technologies, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, BLE, and serial communications.
• Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles (SDLC/STLC).
• Experience with test case development, defect tracking tools (such as JIRA), and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional and agile environments.
• Experience installing and supporting software on Windows and Linux platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing techniques.
• Knowledge of Zigbee or 802.15.4 communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Fieldbus, MES, or industrial communication systems.
• Experience testing mobile applications and connected devices.
• Experience with industrial or assembly tools, including power tools.
