About the role:
The Senior Electronics Systems Engineer considers the needs of the product functionality from broad high-level requirements and can break down the functions into necessary design modules that constitute the electronic controls system. They work closely with the teams responsible for product requirements in order to scope new projects, translate customer needs into product specifications and technical requirements, and provide technical guidance regarding new technologies, feature implementations, risks, cost assessments, etc.
What you’ll do:
- Creates and maintains technical specifications for appliance electronic systems and controls from customer needs and product requirements as developed by Product Line, Marketing, Design, Usability, etc.
- Creates and maintains a catalog of electronic system architectures, system interfaces, and functional system and module requirements.
- Scopes new projects, including requirement collection and analysis, system architecture direction, resources, general timing, and technical risk.
- Provides technical guidance relative to features and new technologies as part of early project assessment and design selection.
- Works closely with electronics design engineers to support interpretation of technical specifications and for collaborative feedback so to ensure the needs of all customers are met.
- Works with electromechanical and mechanical engineers to define required interfaces for our controls.
- Considers the mechanical integration of the controls into the product and works with process partners to ensure environmental design needs and manufacturing practices are satisfactory.
- Serves as technical point of contact to interface with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Service, and outside suppliers for collection of requirements and to provide direct support on technical designs.
- Supports cooking science and agency labs in development of cooking algorithm needs for the electronics controls and for creation of necessary lab development applications.
- Support model-based design initiatives and simulators.
- Supports troubleshooting of issues within development labs and post-production issues.
- Develops validation test plans based directly on requirements.
- Participates in Technical Design Previews in order to report on assigned project deliverables.
- Assists design teams with DFMEA development as systems-level subject matter expert.
- Provide timely communication as to project status and deliverables.
- Creates new intellectual property within scope of work.
- Follow Electrolux processes and methodology towards project delivery.
- Perform any and all functions as outlined by Engineering Management; lead or participate in special function teams and support production as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in product design, embedded control development, or related engineering career field.
- Ability to interpret schematics and understanding of embedded software design and architecture.
- Understanding of overall engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Experience in developing engineering business cases and working with product management teams.
- Appliance product design related experience is preferred.
- Experience with electronics Hardware development is preferred.
- Experience with advanced user interface, power electronics, or connected solutions development is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of testing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is preferred.
- Experience with agency and normative requirements is preferred.
- Fluent in English communication.
