UCT is looking for a talented Sr. Supervisor, Facilities to join us in Austin, TX!
The ideal candidate will present strong technical resources, who can understand the systems, troubleshoot issues, determine root cause, and drive permanent corrective actions.. This role primarily is a hands on role while also supervising technicians and contractors responsible for utilities, building systems, equipment maintenance, and facility services. The Senior Supervisor drives operational discipline, preventive maintenance execution, and rapid issue response while supporting capacity expansion, equipment installations, and continuous improvement to enable stable fab operations and site readiness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong technical background supporting industrial or semiconductor manufacturing facilities, including HVAC, cleanrooms, electrical distribution, compressed air/CDA, plumbing, exhaust, and related facility utility systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot facility and infrastructure problems to root cause using system data, alarms, drawings, controls, and field conditions rather than relying solely on outside contractors.
- Experience supporting cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments, including temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, and environmental requirements that can directly impact production and customer processes.
- Ability to lead facility upgrades, equipment installations, expansions, and CAPEX projects from initial scope and technical requirements through contractor management, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, critical spares, lifecycle planning, and reducing unplanned facility downtime.
- Ability to evaluate facility capacity and infrastructure requirements before new manufacturing equipment or processes are installed.
- Strong contractor and vendor management capability, while still having enough technical depth to challenge recommendations and verify that proposed solutions address the actual failure mode.
- Ability to work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and outside service providers in a fast-paced operation where facility issues can immediately impact safety, production, quality, and customer delivery.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, medical device, pharmaceutical, or another technically demanding controlled manufacturing environment would be strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or building systems in an industrial, manufacturing, or semiconductor environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
- Proven ability to lead technicians and direct day‑to‑day facility activities.
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex facility or utility issues under time‑critical conditions.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with cross‑functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor fab utilities and critical systems (e.g., CDA, UPW, toxic gas delivery, exhaust/scrubbers).
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, alarm monitoring software, or building management systems (BMS).
- Experience coordinating contractors and facility projects.
- Demonstrated success improving reliability, maintenance performance, or energy efficiency.
- Experience supervising or mentoring technical personnel in a 24x7 operations environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical fields, or related technical discipline
- Relevant certifications such as HVAC, electrical licensing, facility operations, or safety/environmental certifications
Experience Requirement:
- Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or maintenance excellence methodologies.
