Albemarle is hiring for a Sr. Supplier Onboarding & Operations Specialist. This position is hybrid and located in Budapest.

What You Will Do:

Supplier Onboarding & Vendor Master Governance

  • Own and execute end-to-end supplier onboarding for direct, indirect, and logistics suppliers
  • Manage vendor lifecycle activities (creation, extension, blocking/unblocking) with strong focus on risk, compliance, and data accuracy
  • Validate onboarding documentation and ensure completeness prior to supplier activation
  • Act as the primary operational SME for onboarding-related inquiries and escalations

Supplier Risk & Due Diligence Operations

  • Perform supplier due diligence checks, including:
    • Financial health assessments
    • Compliance and third-party risk screenings (e.g. D&B / Equifax / Qichacha / Exiger)
  • Assess and segment suppliers by risk level, identifying elevated-risk suppliers
  • Initiate, track, and document mitigation actions for higher-risk suppliers

Risk Documentation, Registers & Audit Readiness

  • Continuously support to maintain and update the supplier risk register
  • Ensure risk findings, mitigation actions, and ownership are clearly documented and audit-ready
  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, data extracts, and process explanations
  • Ensure alignment between vendor master data, risk tools, and supporting documentation

Discrepancy Investigation & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate discrepancies across vendor master data, outline agreements, contracts, POs, and invoices where they impact risk, controls, or compliance
  • Coordinate with Category Managers, Finance, AP, Legal, Compliance, and Logistics teams to resolve issues
  • Drive corrective actions through to closure and validate sustainability

Procurement Operations & Automation (Risk & Control Focus)

  • Support PO automation and RPA activities from a governance and control perspective operationally
  • Monitor automation exceptions RPA(s) in place
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation efficiency and reduce manual risk points

Logistics Data & Reporting Support

  • Maintain logistics-related master data, including rate tables and supplier attributes
  • Ensure logistics data accuracy to support risk assessments and operational reporting
  • Prepare and validate data inputs for reporting activities as required

Governance & Controls Execution

  • Perform compliance and control checks on procurement and supplier-related transactions
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, third-party risk standards, and control frameworks
  • Identify and escalate control gaps, recurring issues, or policy deviations with clear recommendations

Document & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain clear and structured documentation of:
    • Processes and work instructions
    • Control activities and checks
    • Key decisions and remediation actions
  • Ensure documentation supports audit, compliance, and knowledge continuity

Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Support operational processes related to supplier onboarding, risk, and master data governance
  • Identify inefficiencies, recurring issues, and control weaknesses
  • Support implementation of automation, standardization, and process improvements in collaboration with IT and Process Improvement teams

Stakeholder Engagement & SME Advisory

  • Act as a trusted SME for Category Managers and Procurement stakeholders on supplier onboarding
  • Proactively communicate risk insights and operational findings to support informed decision-making

Collaborate cross-functionally (Procurement, AP, Finance, Compliance, IT, Logistics) to ensure aligned execution

What You Bring

  • College or University degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Technical Proficiency (ERP system, Business workflow platforms, Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Supply Chain and Procurement Management Software, Assessment platforms)
