About This Role
This role provides comprehensive support across supply chain disciplines by identifying process gaps through root cause analysis and implementing strategic solutions to ensure operational excellence. Beyond process management, you will guide teams in procurement execution and protocol adherence while partnering with SMEs to gather market intelligence and vendor data for senior management approval. By mentoring associates on daily operational hurdles, managing stakeholder communications, and synthesizing data for planning and budgeting, you serve as a vital link between high-level strategy and day-to-day execution. This is an onsite role at our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
Team Leadership & Execution
Lead and develop a team of material planners
Drive daily execution to meet production schedules and demand
Provide coaching, training, and standard work guidance
Supplier & Material Ownership
Own planning for critical suppliers and commodities
Lead supplier communication, escalation, and recovery actions
Align supplier commitments with plant requirements
Inventory & Cost Optimization
Lead inventory reduction initiatives
Reduce excess and obsolete inventory
Drive premium freight frequency reduction and cost savings
Planning Excellence & Data Integrity
Ensure integrity of planning parameters (lead time , safety stock, lot size)
PFEP (Plan for Every Part) Analysis and Updates
Lead root cause analysis for shortages and delivery misses
Improve SAP data accuracy and planning outputs
SIOP & Cross-Functional Alignment
Align supply plans with demand forecasts and production capacity
Support clear-to-build visibility
Help guide strategic sourcing decision making for new and existing vendors
Continuous Improvement
Lead lean initiatives (kanban, LT reduction)
Implement KPI-driven process improvements leveraging Carrier Excellence tools
KPI Scorecard
Supplier OTD and recovery
Line shortages and clear-to-build stability
Inventory turns and excess reduction
MRP exception closure and planning accuracy

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years materials planning/ buying experience
5+ years of experience in Microsoft Suites
3+ years of experience in SAP
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management
Experience with people leadership
Manufacturing environment experience
Supplier management experience
Lean/Six Sigma certification
APICS/ASCM certification
