Zachry is currently seeking an experienced Industrial construction Sr Millwright Superintendent to support new construction projects.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Millwright Superintendent is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and supervision of millwright activities on large industrial construction projects. This role provides leadership and direction to craft supervision and millwright personnel involved in the installation, alignment, maintenance, and commissioning of major plant equipment, including turbines, pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, and other critical rotating and mechanical equipment. The Sr. Millwright Superintendent works closely with project management, engineering, quality, safety, and client representatives to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, schedule requirements, and budget objectives. This position is accountable for workforce planning, productivity, quality performance, cost control, and maintaining a strong safety culture throughout all phases of project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability for the Millwright discipline.
  • Examines drawings and specifications to determine labor, materials/parts and equipment required for various work tasks.
  • Schedules crews according to the size and complexity of tasks and instructs the foreman and/or employees regarding desired labor methods and required equipment and materials necessary to complete project.
  • Conducts regular inspections of craft work and serves to advise foremen and/or employees regarding work progress and quality of work. Ensures all work is within project specifications.
  • Continually monitors work areas for possible hazards and assists foremen in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Schedules work for future job activities, monitors timely delivery of necessary materials and plant operating equipment and schedules necessary Company equipment to assure continued productivity.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings with craft employees addressing specific work areas and conditions that require safety attention stressing compliance with Company and regulatory safety procedures.
  • Submits accurate material quantities and cost distribution data on completed work to monitor and track project schedule and cost.
  • Reviews and analyzes cost distribution reports to assess work efficiency.
  • Coordinates with engineers, client/owner, inspectors, etc. to isolate problems regarding plant's mechanical equipment and assists in developing solutions to these problems.
  • Coordinates work activities with other craft supervision to assure productivity and to maintain project schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 8-10 years of industrial construction experience, including 6+ years in a Millwright Superintendent or equivalent leadership role on large industrial projects.
  • Extensive experience overseeing the installation and alignment of major mechanical and rotating equipment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates leadership and ability to work well with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and willingness to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary
  • Travel required

Required:

  • Experience in an industrial new construction project, in the power industry
  • Strong mechanical background on large industrial construction projects
  • Must have good aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work with others – team player
  • Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
  • Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations

Preferred:

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • Former Superintendent experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 40lbs.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
