Job Description

About the role and team

The Digital Sales Center (DSC) is Uber Delivery's scaled sales engine for SMB merchants, supporting acquisition, growth and retention across markets globally.

DSC is going through a major transformation as we move toward an increasingly digital and AI-first commercial model, rethinking how technology, automation and human sales teams work together to serve merchants globally.

We are looking for a highly analytical Strategy & Planning Associate to join our global DSC Strategy & Planning team in Amsterdam. You will work with DSC leadership and regional teams to understand business performance, identify growth and efficiency opportunities, and shape our strategy and operating plans.

This role sits at the intersection of data, strategy and commercial execution. You will tackle ambiguous business questions, analyze complex datasets and build models that help answer where we should invest, how we deploy sales capacity, what our targets should be and how our commercial model should evolve.

What You Will Do

  • Shape global DSC strategy - Identify key opportunities, risks and strategic questions and turn them into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Analyze performance and identify opportunities - Deep dive into sales productivity, funnels, merchant growth, coverage and conversion to understand what's driving performance.
  • Support strategic and financial planning - Build models and scenarios for sales targets, capacity, headcount, productivity and investment decisions.
  • Help shape our future commercial model - Analyze how DSC should deploy technology, AI, sales capacity and human support across markets.
  • Own performance insights - Translate data into clear narratives and recommendations for leadership discussions and business reviews.
  • Support GTM and sales planning - Analyze segmentation, coverage, book-of-business design and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives - Build business cases, size opportunities and determine whether initiatives are delivering commercial impact.
  • Partner globally - Work across Commercial Operations, Sales, Finance, Data Science and Product to turn insights into action.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Strategy & Planning, Sales Strategy, Commercial/Sales Operations, Business Operations, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Analytics, Strategic Finance or a similarly analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and independently work through data to reach a recommendation.
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort independently querying and working with large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including analytical modeling and scenario building.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, connecting operational and sales metrics to broader business outcomes.
  • Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills, turning complex analysis into simple, executive-ready recommendations and decks.
  • High ownership and comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to independently drive analytical workstreams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across functions, regions and levels of seniority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in strategy consulting, business operations, strategic finance, sales strategy/planning or another analytically intensive environment.
  • Experience working with sales organizations and familiarity with concepts such as sales funnels, productivity, capacity planning, segmentation, territory/book-of-business design, forecasting and target setting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker or similar.
  • Experience working across multiple markets or within a global or regional organization.
  • Interest in how AI, automation and technology are changing commercial and sales organizations.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
