What Drives Success

This Sr. Strategic Sourcing Analyst provides advanced analytical leadership for transportation sourcing, market intelligence, invoice compliance and supplier performance across LTL, parcel, intermodal, flatbed, dedicated fleet and special projects.

Under limited supervision, the role structures complex analysis, leads analytical workstreams and develops recommendations for multiple business units. You will have the opportunitly to provides analysis, recommendations and executional support while final decisions regarding sourcing strategy, carrier selection, pricing, awards and contractual commitments remain with the Strategic Sourcing Principals and/or authorized business-segment leaders.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Independently analyze complex shipment, lane, rate, fuel, accessorial, invoice and service data; develop spend baselines, pricing models, sensitivity analyses and scenarios for leadership review.
  • Design and administer analytical components of multimodal sourcing events, including data requirements, bid structure, proposal normalization, scenario modeling and award recommendations.
  • Develop fact-based carrier-network recommendations balancing cost, capacity, service, coverage and business-unit requirements; present findings without exercising final award or contractual authority.
  • Analyze invoices and approved contractual pricing to identify systematic discrepancies, billing leakage and recovery opportunities; coordinate resolution with freight audit and service providers.
  • Partner with manufacturing, distribution and supply chain teams to evaluate carrier assignments, capacity coverage and service requirements against current and future needs.
  • Assess capacity intelligence, market trends, fuel movement and regulatory developments; quantify financial and service impacts and communicate forecast implications.
  • Develop carrier scorecards and lead business reviews with multimodal providers and transportation leadership; identify gaps, track corrective actions and communicate capacity, compliance and service risks.
  • Lead analytical and special-project workstreams, improve tools and controls, validate savings and cost avoidance, and guide less-experienced analysts.
  • Owns analytical standards, resolves complex data issues and establishes dependable sourcing baselines across systems and business units.
  • Leads post-sourcing analytical governance, evaluates actual results against the business case and recommends corrective actions.

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business, finance or analytics, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience structuring complex transportation analysis, supporting multimodal sourcing events and presenting recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Experience developing scorecards, leading supplier business reviews and coordinating corrective actions across business units or transportation modes.
  • Working knowledge of NMFC guidelines, freight-class rules, density-based pricing and LTL pricing structures is beneficial.

Technical Skills and Core Competencies:

  • Advanced analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to develop methods, challenge assumptions, interpret capacity intelligence and market indicators
  • Identify systemic risks and present actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with procurement or RFP platforms, SMC3 BidSense, Power BI or Tableau is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of TMS functionality and ERP systems.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Clear communication, scorecard development, business-review facilitation, attention to detail, organization and follow-through.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $84,000 - $110,250 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
