The Senior DC Strategic Optimization Specialist is responsible for collaborating with BJ’s internal business units, as well as key vendor partners to develop and execute strategies that will drive efficiencies for the organization and as a result reduce total Ambient & Perishable DC operations costs. This is accomplished using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance DC operations processes. The Sr. Specialist is responsible for owning data workstreams, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing and presenting recommendations which support the organization’s strategic priorities and objectives. This role will be based onsite at an Ambient or Perishable distribution center.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development, monitoring, and reporting of operational metrics and KPIs
• Developing and owning portions of the DC annual budget & monthly rolling plan
• Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals
• Modeling, analyzing, and reporting on strategic initiatives to inform the business of challenges and opportunities
• Ad-hoc reporting and presentations as requested by leadership

​Additional responsibilities include:

• Build & Develop Dashboards for the DC operations network
• Support the Promotions and Omni-Channel DC operations processes by providing data analysis
• Responsible for providing analysis and reporting to provide inventory visibility throughout the DC network
• Support new initiatives with data analysis and reporting
• Support the DC‘s OP and RP processes by providing reporting packages to FP&A and Logistics teams
• Provide comprehensive tracking for high priority and high-profile initiatives and programs
• Provide support to the Planning & Allocation, Transportation and DCs team as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
• 4+ years of retail, distribution experience
• Supply Chain Management experience
• Tableau or other data visualization experience
• SAP or similar ERP systems experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills required
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Presents to and influences team members and business partners by utilizing relevant data and fact-based information to articulate results.
• Ability to provide recommendations in a clear concise manner
• Desire to Coach & Mentor

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $86,000.00 - $109,500.00We recognize the growing role of AI tools, including ChatGPT, and value familiarity with them.
