The Role

As the Sr. Store Design Manager – Global HOKA, you’ll be a hands-on design leader responsible for translating HOKA’s global retail concept strategy into distinctive, buildable store environments. You’ll own the day-to-day design execution of HOKA’s 365 retail fleet, from concept development through documentation, construction coordination, and store opening, guided by the design strategy, priorities, and standards set by Global Store Design leadership. You’ll partner closely with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Retail Brand Expression to ensure each store delivers a consistent, recognizable brand experience while responding to the format, market, and commercial requirements of its specific location. Success is measured by design quality, consistency, and execution speed across projects, and by the effectiveness of external design and construction partners managed by this role.

Your Impact

• Lead creative development and execution of HOKA retail concepts across store formats, translating brand strategy and consumer insights into site-specific architectural environments and consumer journeys
• Manage retail projects end-to-end, ensuring design intent and consumer experience standards are maintained throughout each phase
• Create and present design narratives, sketches, plans, and renderings to build stakeholder alignment and confidence
• Execute and maintain the 365-store design toolkit, applying tiered solutions appropriate to format, volume, and investment level
• Translate field insights and pilot-project learnings into recommendations that inform and evolve global design standards
• Lead prototyping and refinement of fixtures, furniture, and display systems to meet functionality, durability, and design-quality requirements
• Partner with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, Retail Brand Expression, and regional teams on site evaluation, test fits, and design feasibility
• Direct and manage external architects, design agencies, consultants, and fabricators, setting clear briefs and monitoring budgets and timelines
• Review regional design adaptations and provide creative direction to ensure alignment with global standards, budgets, and timelines

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in Retail Design, ideally within a footwear, apparel, or performance lifestyle brand environment (8–10 years preferred)
• Experience executing retail design projects across multiple store formats, including flagship, brand, and outlet locations
• Experience managing new store openings, relocations, expansions, remodels, and special projects
• Experience directing external architects, agencies, consultants, and fabricators to a defined creative and quality standard
• Experience contributing to and applying global design standards within a broader brand strategy established by senior leadership
• Strong design communication through renderings, sketches, and presentations
• Solid architectural knowledge and hands-on execution experience
• Strong fixture and materials design experience
• Ability to translate established brand and concept direction into compelling, market-appropriate retail environments
• Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
• Solution-oriented, resourceful problem-solver in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

The salary range posted reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in:

Goleta, California (Remote)
