Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly qualified IT Solution Architect for Logistic Execution Systems to spearhead the transformation of our logistic technology landscape. The successful candidate will be accountable for identifying and mapping IT capabilities, establishing technical roadmaps, and providing expert alignment and support to Enterprise Architecture and Service Owners through vendor engagement and market trend analysis. A significant aspect of this role involves advancing IT capabilities in line with business requirements as defined by Global Supply Management (GSM). This position entails oversight of logistic execution systems, management of end-of-life transitions, and ensuring seamless integration across all supply chain processes. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in supply chain IT and SAP systems (ECC, S/4, 3PL integrations).

This role demands strong leadership skills to direct a team of seasoned SAP Senior Analysts responsible for delivering project solutions and minor enhancements. The team is complemented by external partners and consultants who contribute to solution delivery and support within a DevOps framework.

The selected candidate will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for leading the design, delivery, and support processes, ensuring achievement of objectives and adherence to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically align long-term supply chain / logistic system initiatives with the broader IT landscape, drawing on industry’s best practices and emerging trends.
  • Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive roadmap for LE systems to ensure scalability, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement within LE technologies and processes, emphasizing business value through advanced process mining tools such as SAP Signavio.
  • Coordinate project planning with the IT PMO regarding the transition of end-of-life systems, aiming for minimal disruption and the smooth deployment of new solutions.
  • Collaborate with Service/Product Owners and Engagement Managers in a technical consultant capacity, serving as a liaison between software vendors and internal IT teams.
  • Advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies and best practices across logistics and supply chain teams, and identify consolidation opportunities
  • Provide technical leadership for LE systems, ensuring robust integration with supply chain IT processes.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for LE processes, offering insights to SAP SMEs and contributing to continuous improvement and delivery initiatives.

Experiences/Education - Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in IT, with particular emphasis on supply chain and Logistic Execution systems.
  • Over 5 years of practical experience working with SAP modules related to LE, specifically SAP SD/MM and SAP WM/EWM – and integration with 3PL
  • Certification or demonstrated proficiency in utilizing BTP extension technologies.
  • Documented success in designing end-to-end logistic solutions and processes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of 5–10 members, including responsibility for staff development.
  • Extensive experience managing delivery and support teams within IT SAP environments and eco-systems

Skills:

  • Demonstrated abilities in strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience with logistic systems, supply chain IT processes, system integrations, and IT delivery and support procedures.
  • Knowledge of process mapping, process mining, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Clean Core, RISE, and experience using Cloud ALM.
