Sr Staff Engineer - Automation

Location: San Luis de la Paz / Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato.

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Supvr- Plant Engineering/Maintenance, this position is responsible for developing, maintaining and lead project-engineering programs in order to keep the automated equipment in good operating conditions, through preventive and corrective maintenance. Moreover, is responsible for the proper function of the automated equipment, such as: PLC´s, Robots, Drives and Sensors.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure the correct operation of the control programs according to production necessities.

2. Develop and implements preventive maintenance programs to control devices, in order to avoid malfunctions or delays.

3. Maintain and solve problems of all the equipment of the Plant, such as: PLC´s (Siemens, Allen Bradley and Omron), Robots (Fanuc, Gaiotto), Drives sensors and Instrumentation.

4. Support manufacturing improvement through KOS and supports a safe work environment.

5. Design and Build small machines to improve production work and reduce Takt Time.

6. Advises and/or responds to automation problems on 24–hour basis as needed.

7. Perform the assignments established by his Supervisor to maintain plant equipment in good operating conditions.

8. Control and documentation for all backups and changes of programs

9. Update and control of software license

10. Be aware of the obsolescence of components , plc , or instrumentation in automated systems in order to prepare the replacement if nedeed

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:
1. Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Organization Relationships:
1. Frequent contact with all Process Engineers.
2. Frequent contact with all Production and Maintenance Foreman.
3. Frequent contact with all General Supervisors.
4. Frequent contact with Superintendent Pottery

External Business Relationship:
1. Frequent contact with tooling and machine vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

*Engineer Degree, five years work experience in manufacturing operation.

*Experience with PLC´s (Siemens, Allen Bradley and Omron), Robots (Fanuc, Gaiotto), Drives sensors and Instrumentation.

*Broad knowledge in Automated control devices and technologies.

*Must have problem-solving skills to provide quick solution on control program failures and minimize downtime of equipment.

*Strong knowledge in electronic , instrumentation , pneumatic.

*Microsoft Windows based software applications.
