• Responsible for supplier quality management activities across Asia for BMW Motorrad production, localization and future motorcycle projects.
• Ensure supplier readiness, product quality and manufacturing excellence from supplier nomination through series production.
• Lead supplier qualification, audits, industrialization, APQP, PPAP and supplier development activities.
• Drive problem-solving, root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions to achieve best-in-class quality performance.
• Support new product launches, localization initiatives and strategic supplier development throughout Asia.
• Monitor supplier performance, identify quality risks and implement continuous improvement measures.
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Logistics and international BMW Group partners.
• Conduct process, product and system audits according to BMW Group requirements, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Develop suppliers across a broad range of technologies including casting, forging, machining, stamping, welding, tube forming, assembly, plastic injection molding, rubber components and mechatronic systems.
• Support supplier quality activities for electronics, PCBA assembly, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, lighting systems, control units, battery technologies and charging components.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes related to painting, powder coating, anodizing, plating, heat treatment and corrosion protection systems.
What should you bring along?
• University degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialization or Automotive Quality Management.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience with supplier audits, manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in automotive, motorcycle, electronics, industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Willingness to travel across Asia and work closely with suppliers from different countries, cultures and technology fields.
• Fluent English skills and ability to work effectively in an international environment.
