Key Responsibilities

1.Talent Acquisition & Onboarding - in partnership with APAC TA

  • Support local hirings, including participating in job description reviews and hiring preparation meetings to ensure roles are clearly defined and aligned with hiring needs, handling 1st interview with candidates when candidate isn't fluent in English, candidate communication and offer negotiation/delivery
  • Establish / expand effective local recruitment channels: job board, job fairs, campus recruiting etc.
  • Manage the local agencies in partnership with APAC TA
  • Support onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.

2. Local Benefits & HR Policy Administration

  • Administer local employee benefits programs under COE guidance and ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Co-work with HR COE function to maintain and update country‑specific HR policies, handbooks, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and consistency.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and coordinate with vendors as needed for language

3. Employee Engagement & Communication - under guidance from HRD

  • Analyze engagement survey result and recommend action plans for managers and leadership.
  • Support employee engagement activities, communications, and survey follow‑up actions.
  • Support HR Director on talent management activities, including learning, development, and culture‑building initiatives.
  • Provide translation to support leaders outside of Japan on employee communication/coaching
  • Support managers in delivering consistent HR‑related messages to employees.

4. HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in HR initiatives such as policy updates, process enhancements, or HR technology rollouts.
  • Support HRD on organization and talent initiatives, including restructuring, local communication, people movement etc.
  • Other projects/tasked assigned by next level manager

5. Japan Employee Relations & HR Operations

  • Support employee relations activities, documentation, and follow‑up, escalating cases when needed.
  • Facilitate performance management process, guiding managers on SMART goal setting, performance review and PIP execution
  • Maintain employee records based on any local requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with solid exposure to HR Business Partner or COE functions;
  • Proven ability to independently handle employee cases, HR transactions, and cross‑functional coordination with HRBPs, COEs, Service Center and external vendors.
  • Solid knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and HR policies, with the ability to interpret and apply them in day‑to‑day HR operations.
  • Ability to leverage standardized HR frameworks, policies, and tools to deliver consistent and compliant HR support across teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain HR policies and processes clearly to employees and managers.
  • Proficient in English and Japanese.
