Job Description

Negotiate with suppliers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how contract negotiation issues integrate with other stakeholders; has working knowledge of potential suppliers and the factors that differentiate them. Utilizes contract negotiation experience, knowledge and influencing skills to serve as contracting negotiation subject matter expert and lead contract negotiations, training and projects and initiatives for sourcing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the category management and business sourcing teams with negotiating a wide variety of complex contracts including agreements for the procurement of goods, services, software and hardware, and non-disclosure agreements
  • Work closely with Sourcing professionals and Legal to assist them with the deviation approval process, including securing approvals as necessary, contract execution and archiving, and assist with selection and implementation of contract life cycle management tools
  • Work closely with legal counsel such as Sourcing, Commercial, EHS, Labor and Employment, Litigation, Intellectual Property and ITC Counsels to get their input and/or approval on various provisions and/or deviation
  • Take personal responsibility for quality and accuracy of sourcing contracts, and work to improve response times
  • Lead compliance-related issues as needed
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and lead Sourcing terms and conditions and other training as needed
  • Review and draft Sourcing policies and procedures, develop standard work and guidance to assist the team, and lead special initiatives
  • Use strong communication skills to communicate complex messages to others and serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus. Use influencing skills to influence others on topics within field.
  • Lead projects with moderate risk and resource requirements.
  • Develop specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serve as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Assist with strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Financial acumen and experience with drafting and negotiating rebate and other pricing clauses and tracking rebates and/or savings to ensure contract compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Sourcing, Contracting, Finance, Legal, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experience
  • Minimum 8 year’s experience drafting and negotiating commercial terms and conditions and closing complex business transactions

Desired Characteristics:

  • Juris Doctorate
  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering
  • Sourcing / contracting experience in a multinational company

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $125,000.00 and $208,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
