Job Description

AWS is where innovation, risks, and ideas are celebrated. We are builders, we try new things, and imagine big dreams. It is still Day 1 for us, and we are looking for curious people to be part of our diverse teams of thinkers, testers, and doers. Come join us and work with the latest cloud technologies that enable our customers to adopt cloud based solutions.

ABOUT THE TEAM
This role is in the Migration & Modernization team in Amazon Web Services India Private Limited, based out of our Bengaluru, New Delhi, or Mumbai office. You will work directly with a variety of customers primarily from our Enterprise, ISV, FSI, and Startup segments. There will be a lot of variety: ranging from large, established enterprises to businesses who are the early stages of their cloud journey.

THE ROLE
As a Solutions Architect you’ll help your customers plan their successful journey into the cloud and then adopt modern application architectures, leveraging GenAI and Agentic AI solutions, that give them the maximum advantage from cloud services. You’ll solve complex, technical challenges so your customers can focus on their business. This includes using your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. You’ll drive discovery of their application and infrastructure estates and lead technical solution discussions, diving deep into the details with customer teams.

You will collaborate with partners, business developers and specialist SMEs to help your customers adopt modern, cloud native architectures as they migrate to cloud. Your goal is always to work backwards from your customer's business needs and accelerate their adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology. The ability to learn new technology and develop industry relevant architectures and convey business value is critical to the role.

Building relationships to understand our customers is key. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives. You’ll help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals. Speeding up the adoption of our services will be part of your day to day.

You’ll also act as a thought leader in the wider community. This includes playing a lead role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops. You won’t just want to be part of an industry movement; you’ll want to be leading it.

As a Builder, you’ll also have the chance to shape the direction of our products and services. This is through gathering feedback from customers whilst collaborating with our engineering and service teams.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will translate customer infrastructure challenges into comprehensive migration and modernisation strategies leveraging AWS. You will define, design, and execute large-scale migration architectures that accelerate adoption of AWS services across storage, applications, and infrastructure domains. You will engage with senior engineers, architects, infrastructure leaders, and executives at strategic customers to influence migration decisions and provide structured feedback to AWS product teams.

As the ideal candidate, you bring deep technical expertise in migrations and the business acumen required to lead complex data center exit programs with large enterprises and other segments. You have hands-on experience with storage migration strategies, application modernization patterns, VMware migrations, database migrations, and infrastructure-as-code approaches. You are able to credibly advise senior technical and executive stakeholders on migration trade-offs, risks, and long-term optimization strategies.
