Digital Solutions is responsible for the development and management of RWE Americas application and custom software development portfolio. These applications power our day-to-day business, connecting operational data to enable business decisions and drive outcomes that improve the development, performance and availability of over 160 renewable energy sites with over13GW of wind, solar, and battery assets.

The Senior Solutions Analyst I serves as a strategic technology partner within RWE Americas, driving enterprise-level software requirements and translating complex business needs into scalable IT/OT solutions. This role leads cross-functional initiatives across the full project lifecycle, from requirements definition through post-implementation support, while serving as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, vendors, and development teams.

Role Responsibilities:

Requirements & Solution Design

  • Drive enterprise software requirements definition, facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders to align IT/OT solutions with strategic business goals.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and solution roadmaps, collaborating closely with IT, technical analysts, and developers.
  • Manage solution development tradeoffs and prioritization, presenting multiple options to stakeholders with cost-benefit analysis.
  • Identify and resolve complex business process problems, leveraging analytical tools and methodologies to recommend optimal solutions.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for large-scale projects, managing communication across stakeholders, vendors, and development teams.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle implementation, including third-party vendor management, drafting SOWs, budget oversight, and development coordination.
  • Lead change adoption efforts, including presentations, user training, and communication strategies for new systems or processes.

Quality, Testing & Release

  • Direct QA and testing activities, ensuring robust validation processes and final sign-off prior to release.
  • Monitor solution performance post-implementation, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, or user experience.

Application Management

  • Own application management, including setting standards for access, workflow controls, security, and license compliance.
  • Lead decommission planning for applications, collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to create and execute transition plans.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Provide mentorship to junior analysts, reviewing documentation, training delivery, and solution proposals for quality and consistency

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field or relevant work experience
  • At least one of the following Industry Certifications strongly preferred
    • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA (Certifcation of Capability in Business Analysis) from IIBA
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) from PMI
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, solutions analysis, and IT project delivery
  • Proven experience eliciting and documenting requirements through structured techniques such as interviews, workshops, use cases, and process modeling, with demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into actionable solution designs
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, enterprise-scale IT/OT implementations involving coordination of multiple workstreams, risk management and mitigation, and multi-level stakeholder communications
  • Experience with vendor management, creating RFPSs and SOWs, and budget oversight
  • Experience delivering projects in Agile or hybrid methodologies, including sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and iterative delivery
  • Experience working with data models and entity-relationship diagrams to support solution design and requirements analysis
  • The following experience is a plus:
    • ServiceNow backend/service management configuration
    • SAP workflow design, including change management (CHARM) execution, functional and technical design documentation, and task automation within SAP Plant Maintenance and Materials Management (Inventory Management) modules, supporting maintenance order processing, materials movement, and integration across plant maintenance and inventory lifecycle processes
    • Supporting UX/UI designers by providing business requirements, process context, and stakeholder feedback to inform wireframes, user flows, and prototypes
    • Own application management, including setting standards for access, workflow controls, security, and license compliance
    • Lead decommission planning for applications, collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to create and execute transition plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in analytical tools and methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level presentations
  • Knowledge of QA/testing methodologies and release management practices
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management, security standards, and license compliance
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive decisions with cost-benefit analysis
  • Ability to produce clear, structured documentation including business cases, functional specs, and process maps
  • Proficiency in collaboration tooling such as Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Confluence, Visio, or equivalent
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
