The Sr. Software Engineer will support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of a Data Dictionary capability that provides metadata specification, storage, and access services. This system includes a Java/Spring-based backend, RESTful APIs, and a web-based user interface. The engineer will work independently to implement features, contribute to architectural decisions, and support full lifecycle software delivery within a collaborative Agile environment. You must have an active/current TS/SCI Polygraph on day one to qualify.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
Develop, maintain, and enhance Java/Spring applications supporting:
A web-based user interface for creating and managing metadata specifications, including attributes and valid values
A database solution for storing specifications
RESTful services enabling programmatic access to specifications
Design and implement backend services and APIs
Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices
Develop and maintain database schemas, queries, and integrations
Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities, and operational readiness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and system integrators
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, for a total of twelve (12) years of experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in SIGINT, IA, or IT domains
Minimum of three (3) years of experience with modern Java and Spring/Spring Boot development
Experience developing RESTful APIs and JSON-based web services
Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL or equivalent technologies
Experience working in Linux development environments

PostgreSQL and SQL database design
User interface design, development, and testing
REST, XML, and JSON web services
Linux-based systems
Docker and Kubernetes
CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Task tracking and ticketing systems such as JIRA or Redmine
Clear, professional communication of technical ideas, status, and issues to both peers and management

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
