Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Node.js Engineer to join our Technology Engineering team supporting Business Platforms & Payments initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Node.js, modern backend development, distributed systems, and microservices architecture. Experience with Spring Boot will be considered a strong advantage.

This role requires an engineer who can design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications supporting enterprise-grade payment platforms. The successful candidate should have strong experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs, integrating with multiple databases, implementing automated testing, and following modern software engineering best practices throughout the SDLC.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.

• Architect and develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and GraphQL services supporting enterprise web and mobile applications.

• Design and implement distributed systems and microservices architectures with strong focus on scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and high availability.

• Develop reusable, maintainable, and efficient JavaScript and TypeScript code following engineering best practices.

• Integrate backend services with relational and NoSQL databases while ensuring performance optimization and data consistency.

• Build secure server-side applications with strong authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, code reviews, and engineering governance.

• Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using modern testing frameworks.

• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and ensure platform reliability.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, release management, deployment automation, and engineering best practices.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Technical Skills

Backend Development

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.

• Experience developing enterprise backend applications using JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.

API Development

• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

• Experience building GraphQL APIs.

• API versioning, authentication, authorization, and API security best practices.

Microservices & Distributed Systems

• Strong experience designing microservices-based architectures.

• Experience with distributed systems.

• Service-to-service communication.

• High availability and fault-tolerant application design.

• Scalability and performance optimization.

• Data consistency across distributed services.

Database Technologies

Strong experience with both relational and NoSQL databases including:

• PostgreSQL

Testing & Quality Engineering

Hands-on experience with:

Using frameworks such as:
