A Day in The Life Of:

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Software Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Design, develop, and test innovative software solutions that power life-changing medical technologies, ensuring compliance with software development standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, technology architects, software developers, and test engineers to define technical solutions, plan project deliverables, and drive successful execution from concept to release.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
  • Participate in technical reviews of requirements, architecture, designs, code, and other engineering artifacts, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery of project commitments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance development processes, quality practices, and team effectiveness.
  • Design and implement reusable frameworks, components, and engineering patterns that accelerate development, improve maintainability, and increase team productivity.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, tools, and approaches that enhance software quality, performance, and user experience.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant software engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions, supported by strong documentation practices.
  • Experience developing frameworks, reusable libraries, platforms, or shared software components that enable efficient product development.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills with a desire to help teams grow and succeed.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.
  • Proven ability to thrive in an Agile, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
  • Experience developing software within regulated environments such as medical devices, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, or other quality-focused industries is an advantage.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and modern software engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET MAUI, iPadOS.
  • Experience with application architecture, software frameworks, design patterns, and reusable component development is highly desirable.
