Job Description

We are seeking a passionate (Sr.) Software Engineer to join our dynamic R&D department

You will develop software solutions for our Air Traffic Control and Defense & Security Business Unit.

  • Analyze and enhance the existing codebase for the product you’re working on.

  • Evaluate requirements from NPI (New Product Introduction) project managers and translate them into necessary code changes.

  • Contribute to defining the overall architecture for new developments, building on existing frameworks or proposing new approaches.

  • Collaborate with colleagues (both software and non-software) to assess all aspects of new designs, including the impact on other departments such as product industrialization.

  • Maintain a broad product overview and identify opportunities for code and design reuse across projects.

  • Discuss proposed modifications with team members to arrive at well-rounded, effective solutions.

  • Apply best coding practices and actively suggest process improvements to enhance team performance and product quality.

  • Represent the software team in product-related project meetings.

  • Take ownership of follow-up tasks and incorporate new insights as the design evolves.

  • Ensure reliable and timely software deliverables, including managing the release process.

  • Estimate workloads and communicate proactively when project milestones are at risk.

  • Report directly to the R&D Manager Software.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electronics, ICT, computer sciences, or equivalent.

  • Min. a few years of experience in related field.

  • Advanced technical skills i.e. Embedded software development: embedded Linux, Build Systems (Buildroot, Yocto)

  • Programming languages: C/C++ (Python, Linux shell script, Java Script)

  • Understanding of network technology

  • Version control systems: SVN, git

  • You have an analytical mind and are solution oriented.

  • You are enthusiastic and can collaborate with an open mind in an international team.

  • You have good communication skills in English.
