Job Description

A Senior Software Engineer specializing in BigCommerce at Creative Chaos will play a vital role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining e-commerce platforms powered by BigCommerce. This position requires a blend of strong technical skills, e-commerce knowledge, and a passion for providing excellent user experiences. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to implement innovative solutions tailored for online retail.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain web applications using the BigCommerce platform
• Integrate third-party services and create custom applications as needed
• Analyze client requirements and provide effective solutions
• Collaborate with design teams to improve user interface and experience
• Implement robust, scalable, and secure code
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to industry standards
• Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative team environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on BigCommerce
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with server-side programming in PHP or Node.js
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
• Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and trends
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA)
