In this role, you'll lead an engineering team at the forefront of Amazon's expansion into agentic platforms, owning the software that powers critical integration points and customer experiences. Your team designs and implements the APIs that enable secure, efficient communication between Amazon's services and external platforms, builds robust middleware (MCPs) that handles complex integration scenarios, and crafts responsive React-based interfaces that deliver seamless customer experiences across platform boundaries. Your job is to set the technical direction for that work, hire and grow the people who do it, and be accountable for its delivery, quality, and operational health.
You'll lead a team of engineers — including senior and principal-level ICs — through complex technical challenges, making pragmatic decisions that balance speed of delivery against long-term technical health. This includes driving adoption of the latest GenAI coding tools to accelerate your team's velocity while holding Amazon's high standards for code quality and security. You'll partner with product managers to shape the roadmap and refine requirements, with design to ensure high-fidelity customer experiences, and with peer engineering teams to align on scalable architectures that handle Amazon-scale traffic. You own the tradeoffs between scope, timeline, and resourcing, and you make the call when priorities compete.
A significant portion of your time goes to people and technical leadership: coaching and developing engineers, managing performance, recruiting, and steering the team through design and architecture reviews rather than owning every design yourself. You're accountable for your team's services end-to-end — from design through deployment and operational excellence — ensuring they meet stringent performance, security, and reliability bars, and that on-call and operational load stay sustainable. As a Senior Manager, you'll set the team's technical strategy, raise the engineering bar through the standards you enforce and the reviews you lead, and represent your team's work and commitments to senior leadership and cross-org stakeholders.

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.
Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.
Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.
You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
