We count on our site reliability engineers (SREs) to empower our users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. We are searching for someone who brings fresh ideas,demonstratesa unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction. The SRE engineer wouldbe responsible forleading and executing SRE initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that systems are reliable, scalable, and available.
Essential Duties and Functions
Collaborate witha high-performing team of Site Reliability Engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Gatherandanalyzemetrics from both operating systemsas well asapplications toassistin performance tuning and faultfinding.
Run the production environment bymonitoringavailability and taking a holistic view of systemhealth.
Partner with other groups in IT Operations, Database Engineering, and Hosting to build, improve, and solidify the Site Reliability core objectives
Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure andapplications.
Create sustainable systems and services through automation anduplifts.
Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market ofour suite of softwaresolutions.
Measure,monitor, andreportofavailability, latency, and overall system health based on SLIs/SLOs/SLAs
Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed softwareapplications.
Participating in blameless postmortems toidentifyresilience and reliability improvements.
Triaging, routing, and resolution of issues and incidentsidentifiedby both internal and external stakeholders.
Establish KPIs for reliability, performance, and incident response
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
5+yearsas an engineerin Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or Software Development experience.
Must havehands onexperiencewith monitoring and observability tools (e.g., New Relic,LogicMonitor,Azure ARC,AWS CloudWatch).
Knowledgeable inincident management software such as Atlassian JSM.
Serve asorganizationalexpert ontheobservabilitytools andplatformsensuring best practices,techniques,and methods.
Play a critical role in major incidents by leading mitigation of said incidents including communication to internal and external audiences, driving rapid resolution and blameless postmortems.
Applicable higher education, or equivalent work experience.
Cloudexperience with Azure or AWS.
Ability to program with one or more languages, such asPowerShell, Python, Java, C#,Ruby, and JavaScript
Experience with cloud services such asAzure andsupportingtechnologies
Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases.
A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, andperformancebottlenecks
A collaborative spirit and you enjoy working with a team to build things.
A desire to continually improve and you value giving and receiving constant and constructive feedback.
Documentation of tribal knowledge to reduce knowledge silos and reliance on institutional memory to support andmaintainreliable systems.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
