
The Sr Accounts Payable Assistant provides back up support for the Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor and AP Lead. Trains AP staff on department systems, policies, procedures, and newly developed accounting functions. Acts as resource for AP assistants as needed. Performs system testing on behalf of the department and helps identify system issues that require fixes.
Responsibilities:
Assists Accounts Payable Supervisor in delegation of daily workload.
Acts as resource to AP assistants as needed.
Enters invoices into accounting systems.
Provides General Ledger Coding.
Uploads files using Winshuttle into SAP.
Uses Excel spreadsheets to perform intermediate tasks.
Resolves invoice discrepancies and responds to vendor inquiries.
Researches payments and prepares payment proposal reports. Prepares Journal Entries for month-end accruals. Processes check requests and expense reports verifying appropriate documentation and approvals
Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Some positions may require 2+ years of technical training.
