Xylem is hiring a Senior Sales Process Specialist!

The Senior Sales Process Specialist for the Water Infrastructure Treatment Projects division is responsible for supporting and improving sales and commercial processes that drive business growth, operational consistency, and a strong customer experience. A primary focus of this role is leading and strengthening the order entry process for project-based sales, ensuring orders are entered accurately, timely, and in alignment with commercial terms, contractual requirements, and operational needs. This role partners closely with sales, project teams, finance, operations, and customer service to improve the effectiveness of processes that support the full commercial lifecycle within the Water Infrastructure Treatment business.

In addition to order entry ownership, this position supports process improvement across proposal coordination, forecasting, project handoff, pricing support, contract workflow, sales reporting, and order execution. The Senior Sales Process Specialist helps ensure these processes are well defined, consistently followed, and aligned with business objectives. The role is also responsible for improving data quality, reducing inefficiencies, and supporting the tools and systems needed to strengthen commercial execution.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in sales process improvement within a project-driven environment and is able to work effectively across functions and priorities. This individual should be comfortable analyzing workflows, supporting process changes, and driving adoption of standardized practices that improve visibility, accountability, and overall performance. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and improve order entry processes for project-based sales to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and alignment with commercial terms, customer requirements, and internal controls.
  • Partner with sales, finance, operations, customer service, and project teams to resolve order-related issues and ensure clean handoff from commercial activity into execution.
  • Review order entry workflows and identify opportunities to improve process consistency, reduce errors, strengthen documentation, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard work, process documentation, and controls related to order entry and commercial execution.
  • Coordinate and improve commercial processes related to proposal support, pricing workflow, contract review, forecasting, sales reporting, and order execution.
  • Support CRM and related sales tools to improve data quality, process visibility, reporting accuracy, and commercial discipline.
  • Help ensure alignment between commercial processes, order management, and operational execution to support revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Candidates should bring a combined 5 years experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Sales operations
  • Commercial operations
  • Business process improvement
  • Order management
  • Project sales support
  • Related commercial or operational disciplines

Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience supporting order entry, commercial documentation, and process controls in a project-based or engineered solutions environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting complex engineered solutions, capital projects, or treatment-related commercial processes is preferred.
  • Strong systems aptitude, including experience with CRM or ERP and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across sales, finance, operations, customer service, and project teams.
  • Ability to analyze workflows, support process changes, and drive adoption of standardized practices that improve visibility, accountability, and performance.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
