About ALC

At Automated Logic, we've been developing and supporting intelligent building solutions that have helped customers, including small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, operate their buildings more efficiently for over 40 years. Our solutions help reduce energy consumption, lower utility, operating and maintenance costs, and improve indoor air quality, occupant comfort, and productivity. Technology that supports the buildings and industry of today and tomorrow requires a wide range of talents and skill sets.

About This Role

At Automated Logic, we don’t just price equipment; we architect the financial and technical foundations of smarter buildings. As a Senior Sales Estimator, you are the strategic anchor of our estimating process, driving accuracy on our largest, most complex building challenges and ensuring our proposals are as competitive as they are innovative.

In this leadership role, you will not only deliver high confidence estimates but also mentor junior team members, optimize estimating workflows, and serve as the primary bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Operations to maximize our win rate and project profitability.

Who You Are

• A Technical & Strategic Leader: You understand that a great estimate is a winning strategy. You can see the big picture on massive, multi-faceted projects and help the team align scope with business objectives.
• An Expert Problem-Solver: You thrive on complexity, easily navigating vague specifications or intricate financial puzzles, and you enjoy teaching others how to do the same.
• A Master Collaborator: You excel at building strong relationships with executive leadership, operations heads, and key vendors, acting as a trusted advisor across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect Detailed Estimates: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for both owner-direct and construction-based projects, covering hardware, software, and labor.
• Translate Specifications: Deep dive into control schematics and bid documents to accurately define project scope and eliminate risk.
• Build the Solution: Create detailed scope letters and proposals that offer the best value-engineered options for our customers.
• Cultivate Vendor Partnerships: Solicit and qualify pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring we have the best support in the market.
• Drive Strategic Alignment: Partner with Sales leadership and Operations to align our pricing strategies with market conditions and business objectives.
• Ensure Seamless Handoffs: Provide clear, accurate documentation and participate in turnover meetings to set our execution teams up for success.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• 3+ years of direct estimating experience within the Building Automation (BAS), HVAC, or Controls industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
• Skilled in modern estimating software and CRM tools to drive efficiency.
• Ability to present ideas and strategies clearly to leadership and diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
