The Senior Reservoir Corporate Planning Engineer is responsible for integrating reservoir engineering expertise into corporate planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes. This role supports asset valuation, reserves estimation, production forecasting, short and long-term development planning across the company’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Planning & Strategy
- Lead development of short-, medium-, and long-term production forecasts across operated and non-operated assets
- Support corporate business planning cycles (BP, LRPs, budgets, re-forecasts)
- Provide technical inputs to corporate strategy, portfolio optimization, and capital allocation decisions
- Evaluate growth opportunities, acquisitions, and divestitures from a reservoir perspective
- Evaluate and sensitize development schedules to ensure operationally executable and minimize or mitigate operational risk
- Lead inventory scheduling and drive success of asset teams development program.
Reservoir Engineering & Forecasting
- Generate and validate decline curve analysis (DCA), type curves, and simulation-based forecasts
- Integrate subsurface, drilling, and facilities data into field-wide production models
- Ensure consistency and quality control across asset forecasts
- Support uncertainty analysis and probabilistic forecasting (P10/P50/P90)
Reserves & Resource Management
- Contribute to reserves estimation and reporting (SEC, PRMS)
- Work closely with reserves auditors and internal teams to ensure compliance
Economic Evaluation
- Perform economic analysis, including NPV, IRR, breakeven pricing, and sensitivities
- Assess capital efficiency and project ranking to guide investment decisions
- Collaborate with finance teams on cash flow projections and valuation models
Cross-Functional Integration
Collaborate with:
- Asset team (Land, Geology, Drilling, Completions & Production)
- Finance & commercial groups
- Corporate strategy and leadership
- Ensure alignment between technical evaluations and financial outcomes
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain high-quality data for corporate planning tools and dashboards
- Prepare reports, sensitivities and presentations for executive leadership
- Support digital initiatives and automation in forecasting workflows and dashboards
Qualifications
· ARIES proficiency required
· Spotfire and/or Power BI proficiency required
· Enersight or Planning tool proficiency preferred
· Execute – Ops Schedulers experience preferred
· SQL experience preferred
· A minimum of 5+ years of Reservoir Engineering experience with a demonstrated focus on reserves, corporate planning, and acquisition analysis
· Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Petroleum Engineering
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
