The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology Division.
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business,we’readvancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
WhatYou’llWork On
Performs visual,dimensionaland functional inspection and testing according to documented policies and procedures.
Recordsinspection and test dataas prescribed bywritten instructions and procedures.
Operates all associated test and measurement equipment as instructed and as documented in procedures.
Recommends changes to policies and procedures. May prepare andsubmitchange requests.
Documents non-conformances in Non-Conforming Material Review system.
Participates in GR&R studies as directed by engineers or technicians.
Collects and evaluates data for First Article inspections.
Performs testing and inspectionin accordance withspecial test requests.
Trains other Inspectors.
Assistsin gathering, analyzing, and trending of data.
Performs work of a miscellaneous nature asrequired
Support all Company initiatives asidentifiedby management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies withU.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Contributes to continuous improvement projects for the Receiving Inspection team.
Participates in RI audit readiness preparation.
Acts as change order coordinator for RI.
SupportsSQEspull and verify metrics and run reports for monthly and quarterly business reviews.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/ GED
5 years of relevant work experience
Quality inspection experience, including use of optical measurement equipment, hand tools, gages, and blueprint reading with sampling techniques
Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO 13485; medical devicecomponentinspection experience and ASQ CMI certification preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (Word, Excel); high attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced, matrixed, and geographically diverse environments
Flexible and dependable, with ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
