The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for performing advanced-level inspections of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic components, subassemblies, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with DDN’s quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides critical support to manufacturing, supplier quality, and engineering teams by identifying non-conformances, assisting in root cause investigations, and helping implement effective corrective actions.
Perform in-process, incoming, and final inspections using appropriate tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscope, etc.).
Interpret and apply complex mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
Document inspection results and non-conformances in DDN’s quality systems.
Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first article inspections (FAI), new product introduction (NPI), and production validation.
Support supplier quality by inspecting components received from vendors and communicating quality issues for disposition.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) processes.
Assist in training junior inspectors and operators on inspection standards and techniques.
Maintain accurate records of inspection reports, calibration logs, and quality metrics.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements where applicable.
Uphold a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality management.
Minimum 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
Proficient in using mechanical inspection tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
Familiarity with ERP and quality systems (e.g., Oracle, Propel, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification.
Prior experience in aerospace, data storage, or high-performance computing industry.
Working knowledge of ESD controls and cleanroom practices.
