Role Purpose

Are you passionate about driving manufacturing quality excellence and preventing defects before they occur?

Join our team as a Senior Quality Engineer and play a key role in strengthening quality systems, reducing manufacturing risks, and driving continuous improvement across metal fabrication operations. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure robust process controls, improve customer satisfaction, and support operational excellence through data-driven decision making.

What is your role?

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality throughout metal fabrication operations by implementing and maintaining robust quality systems, strengthening process controls, and proactively reducing manufacturing risks.

This position provides technical leadership in quality planning, statistical process controls, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting manufacturing processes including punching, bending, forming, welding, assembly, and powder coating operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation and continuous improvement of PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Standard Work.
  • Ensure manufacturing controls effectively mitigate identified process risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement of process capability and critical quality characteristics.
  • Develop and maintain statistical process control systems for key manufacturing processes.
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis
  • Lead complex root cause investigations using 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, and Ishikawa methodologies.
  • Coordinate containment, corrective actions, and preventive actions for customer and internal quality issues.
  • Support customer audits, corrective action responses, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and reduce internal defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Punching and Laser cutting operations.
  • Metal forming and bending
  • Powder coating and powder painting processes
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to improve process performance.
  • Support new product introductions and process validations.
  • Coach engineers, supervisors, and technicians on quality methodologies and Core Tools.
  • Support and lead internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and company quality standards.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years supporting metal fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing processes.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools:
    • APQP
    • PFMEA
    • Control Plans
    • MSA
    • SPC
    • PPAP
  • Experience leading Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Actions.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Knowledge of process risk assessment and process control methodologies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced English communication skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional quality improvement project

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Automotive manufacturing industry experience.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and/or Internal Auditor Certification.
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes such as punching, stamping, bending, forming, welding, and powder coating.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience managing customer quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and change management capabilities.
