About You:

You thrive in a vibrant, entrepreneurial organization where your ideas are valued. You are motivated by goals, a self-starter, and enjoy wearing multiple hats in a fast-growing fintech environment.

You are a talented professional looking for a career, not a job. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you are dedicated to ensuring that all systems and processes conform to the technical specifications before, during and after release. Your work will increase application resiliency, improve data integrity and increase process efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases based on business requirements for complex financial applications.
  • Validate batch and online processing workflows, including scheduled jobs, real-time transactions, downstream system impacts, and data movement across integrated platforms.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across UI, API, service, database, and external system layers to ensure complete business workflow validation.
  • Execute statement and financial validation testing, including balances, payment schedules, loan data, transaction history, fees, and customer-facing disclosures across LOC and Installment products.
  • Test third-party and system-to-system integrations, including APIs, file-based interfaces, service responses, and data transformation logic.
  • Design and execute backend validation using SQL, logs, database records, and service outputs to verify business rules, file processing, and data accuracy.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and retest defects; partner closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Contribute to automation strategy by identifying high-value automation opportunities and expanding regression, integration, API, and UI test coverage.
  • Support shift-left testing practices by participating early in requirement reviews, acceptance criteria discussions, solution design reviews, and risk assessment sessions.
  • Work within Agile delivery teams and CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality validation throughout development, testing, and release cycles.
  • Use modern QA and AI-enabled automation tools to improve test efficiency, coverage, traceability, and defect detection.
  • Support release readiness, production validation, and post-release verification for critical financial and operational changes.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of test scenarios, evidence, results, and defect reports to support transparency, auditability, and compliance needs.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices in quality engineering, risk-based testing, and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance in a commercial environment, with strong hands-on experience in backend, API, database, and integration testing.
  • Proven experience in the financial services, lending, credit, or fintech domain.
  • Solid knowledge of end-to-end testing for enterprise applications across UI, services, integrations, databases, upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Strong understanding of Lines of Credit (LOC) and Installment loan lifecycle, servicing, and related customer/account workflows.
  • SQL skills for data validation, troubleshooting, and backend verification.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices, test planning, defect lifecycle management, and collaboration within cross-functional product teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates in modern software delivery environments.
  • Experience with shift-left testing and proactive quality involvement during planning, design, and development phases.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively across QA, Development, Product, Business, and Operations teams
  • Familiarity with AI-based testing or any automation tool.
  • Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) is an asset.
  • Ability to integrate or adopt AI tools in day-to-day tasks.
