Responsibilities

This test engineer will be responsible for assisting Client with testing data conversions, transformations and transmissions at both a front-end and back-end level throughout the entirety of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This test engineering position would be expected to work in an efficient manner and be as self-sufficient as possible, leveraging testing frameworks and tools wherever possible. The test engineer will work along side development personnel, project managers and other test engineers to accomplish their validation. The best alignment to this role would also include skillsets and experience working alongside the development team in an effort to assist in understanding design, requirements and delivery approaches and implementation concepts. A “senior” version of this role will be expected to assist the client with the establishment of a robust testing discipline at a team level, in addition to the previously mentioned responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include:

• Understanding of and properly documenting test cases effectively
• Work closely with other business units/departments as applicable to ensure the proper environments are established for test execution
• Creation of testing frameworks and other components to allow effective reuse and team collaboration wherever possible
• Work closely with the development staff with any failed test cases to assist and clarify understanding of failure
• Contribute thoughts and guidance to the project manager regarding timeline, approaches, risk and issues on a regular basis
• Contribute guidance and insight to the development teams around approaches and requirement compliance.
