Job Description
The Sr. Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and procuring technical, engineering, machining, and raw materials while ensuring optimal cost, quality, and on-time delivery. The role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and suppliers to support business requirements, project timelines, and continuous operational efficiency.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for technical and engineering components.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best commercial and technical outcomes.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs to identify suitable sourcing options.
- Raise RFQs, evaluate quotations, and prepare cost comparisons.
- Issue purchase orders and manage supplier acknowledgements.
- Track deliveries and expedite critical orders to meet project schedules.
- Work with suppliers on lead-time reductions and cost-saving initiatives.
- Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and invoice issues.
- Support inventory optimization and demand planning activities.
- Maintain supplier records, pricing agreements, and procurement documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Engineering teams to clarify drawing requirements, specifications, material grades, tolerances, and alternate sourcing options.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical procurement, strategic sourcing, or purchasing.
- Experience purchasing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, automation, or industrial components.
Desired
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, IFS, or Dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.
