Job Description Summary

The Senior Planner will report directly to the PES Planning and Scheduling Leader and will be responsible for the development, maintenance, analysis, and delivery of project schedules for assigned complex Power Services projects across the full project lifecycle, from Inquiry to Order (ITO) through Order to Remittance (OTR).

This role will work closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality project schedules, support project execution, identify schedule risks and opportunities, and provide accurate reporting and projections throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of project schedules for assigned Power Services complex upgrade projects during both the ITO and OTR phases.
  • Develop integrated project schedules that reflect project scope, execution strategy, work packages, milestones, constraints, and interfaces.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain accurate schedule updates, forecasts, and projections.
  • Partner with Project Managers, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, field services, and other functions to ensure alignment on project plans and schedule assumptions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional agreement on the project execution plan and establish baseline schedules for awarded projects.
  • Ensure customer milestones, external interfaces, and key dependencies are fully incorporated into the project schedule.
  • Perform schedule analysis to proactively identify risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning.
  • Monitor the critical path, near-critical path, and total float to support effective project decision-making.
  • Provide accurate and timely schedule reporting for internal stakeholders and, as needed, customer-facing reporting through the Project Manager.
  • Support Commercial teams in the preparation of tender schedules by validating scope, lead times, execution assumptions, and factory/field inputs for bid submissions.
  • Drive scheduling best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives across the planning and scheduling function.
  • Support multiple complex projects within the portfolio while working effectively in a matrix organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Significant experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within the power industry, EPC projects, or power plant outages, upgrade/retrofit projects.
  • Strong experience supporting projects across the full lifecycle, including commercial/tendering, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field execution.
  • Proven expertise in Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of schedule development, schedule risk analysis, forecasting, critical path management, and progress measurement.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
  • Experience with complex power plant upgrades, outages and retrofits projects.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working in customer-facing project environments and supporting schedule reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
