NJR Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead and manage technical team in the execution of engineering and construction RFPs and the delivery of multiple commercial solar and CHP projects in support of the Clean Energy Ventures project plan. This role is responsible for setting program standards, overseeing major construction and O&M activities and ensuring projects are delivered safety, on time and within budget.
Major Responsibilities
• Oversee construction activities with EPC contractors, landlords and tenants to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
o Project sizes range from 2 MW to 150 MW, with capital values up to $150M
o Typically oversees 1-4 concurrent projects, including direct oversight of onsite project management staff
• Manage and coordinate negotiation and execution of EPC agreements for all clean energy platforms
• Lead a team of technical and project management professionals in the construction of various projects
• Manage procurement activities, as applicable, to ensure timely completion within budget
• Oversee the review and approval of electrical and construction engineering plans
• Oversee the implementation of major O&M outages for various Clean Energy Ventures assets
• Develop, review and approve project commissioning plans and test procedures
• Oversee construction permitting and interconnection process
• Oversee and manage all landowner issues at the various project sites
• Assist with the preparation of various reports and presentations for senior NJR management
• Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships, fostering collaboration, accountability, and teamwork
Position Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred)
• 7-10 years of experience leading various engineering and construction teams, including working on solar and energy project implementations
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel 25-35% and spend necessary time at remote project locations

Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $122,000- $165,000.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
