
We are seeking a Senior Project Control Team Leader for GSI projects in the US and Canada. In this dual-role position, the candidate will not only manage their own projects as a Senior Project Controller, ensuring projects are executed on schedule and within budget, but will also provide leadership and strategic support to the Regional Project Control Manager. As a Team Leader, they will play a key role in driving the growth and development of the regional project control team, including cost controllers and planners, ensuring alignment with overall project goals, global standards and fostering continuous improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities
Partners with teams from within the business unit to specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes.
Good understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Great understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Contributes to a wide variety of projects and assignments to grow leadership skills, business acumen, and technical skills.
A job at this level requires great interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Lead the Project Control team for the project/Portfolio.
Ensures project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into project planning scenario.
Responsible for monitoring progress and producing accurate projections.
Ensures other functions have access to accurate current reports and projections and relevant reports are available for the customer.
Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or finance or Engineering Diploma with minimum 5 years of Project Management Experience
Minimum of 10 years planning large turnkey projects and use of Primavera
Minimum of 5 projects providing cost controlling on large turnkey projects
Lead planner on a minimum of 5 turnkey projects
Minimum 2 years doing project control at GE GRID
Minimum 2 years of people leader experience
Minimum 5 years doing Forensic Analysis
Minimum 5 years in Cost estimating and forecasting
Minimum 2 years in Data handling skills (Excel, SAP…)
Communication (English language a must)
Must already be eligible to work in the USA

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
