Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of modular data centers, POD solutions, and prefabricated data center facilities.
  • Develop electrical system architecture including MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, backup power generation, and critical load distribution.
  • Design and review single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, layouts, cable routing, and grounding systems.
  • Coordinate electrical design interfaces with mechanical, civil, structural, controls, and commissioning teams.
  • Support customer technical discussions, solution development, and project delivery activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with international data center standards and local electrical codes.
  • Provide technical guidance during factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and project handover.

Required Technical Skills

Data Center Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of critical power systems for data centers.
  • Experience designing Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV data center infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center projects.
  • Understanding of data center reliability concepts including N, N+1, 2N, and 2N+1 architectures.

Electrical System Design

  • Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution design.
  • UPS system design and integration.
  • Generator and backup power system design.
  • Power Distribution Unit (PDU) and Remote Power Panel (RPP) design.
  • Busway and cable distribution systems.
  • Grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Short-circuit, load flow, voltage drop, and coordination studies.

Modular / POD Solution Experience

  • Direct experience with POD or prefabricated modular data center electrical design.
  • Experience integrating electrical systems into containerized or modular environments.
  • Knowledge of factory-built and pre-engineered data center solutions.
  • Understanding of electrical design considerations for transportation, factory assembly, and rapid deployment.

Design Software

  • AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Revit MEP.
  • ETAP.
  • SKM PowerTools.
  • EPLAN (preferred).
  • BIM coordination experience.

International Standards & Codes

  • IEC Standards.
  • IEEE Standards.
  • NEC (NFPA 70).
  • NFPA 70E.
  • TIA-942.
  • Uptime Institute standards.
  • IEC 61439.
  • IEC 60364.
  • Local utility and authority requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • 8+ years of electrical design experience.
  • 5+ years of data center design experience.
  • Experience supporting international data center projects in APAC, EMEA, or North America.
  • Experience working with major data center operators, cloud providers, or EPC contractors.

Soft Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary design reviews.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales, bid response, and technical proposal activities.
  • Fluent English communication skills for international project coordination.
  • Ability to work under tight delivery schedules and manage multiple concurrent projects.
