Sr Program Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE)


Milestone Technologies is seeking a Sr Program Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and manage a large, long-term global program. This program focuses on global change management coordination and delivery, supporting their cutting-edge clinical trials innovation efforts.


As the Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will oversee multiple workstreams within a transformative, high-impact program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution, proactively manage risks, and drive successful delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitation and Coordination
    • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART syncs, retrospectives, and system demos.
    • Coordinate cross-team dependencies to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
    • Act as a communication bridge between stakeholders, Product Management, and Agile Teams.
  • Agile Leadership
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
    • Support Scaled Agile transformation by mentoring teams and individuals.
    • Drive adherence to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) practices and principles.
  • Program Execution
    • Track and report ART progress, risks, and issues, typically using tools like Jira or ADO.
    • Escalate and resolve impediments, working with stakeholders to remove obstacles.
    • Ensure deliverables align with business goals and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with Product Management, Product Owners, and System Architects to maintain a cohesive roadmap.
    • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Team Leads, and other RTEs to ensure coordination across ARTs.
    • Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Metrics and Reporting
    • Monitor ART performance using metrics like velocity, predictability, and delivery lead time.
    • Ensure teams are effectively estimating, planning, and meeting PI objectives.

· Training

    • Certified to train internal teams in courses like Leading SAFe and SAFe ScrumXP, as well as launch Agile Release Trains (ARTs). (SAFe SPC Certified)

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Support of Team level scrum activities to include all ceremonies, team maturity,
  • Lead the initiation, planning, development, and delivery of new platform development initiatives using Veeva’s risk management toolsets
  • Provide program-level visibility across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with overall program goals and timelines.
  • Identify risks and proactively propose corrective actions to keep the program on track.
  • Monitor and manage the impact of ancillary projects, ensuring that changes are tracked and potential risks are mitigated.
  • Foster collaboration across teams to ensure resources stay aligned and focused on the program’s objectives.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand program prerequisites, platforms, and specific deliverables.
  • Adapt to the client’s pace and delivery methods, providing flexibility and senior-level expertise to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in program-level ownership, overseeing the initiation, planning, development, and delivery of new platform development initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in using Veeva’s risk management toolsets
  • Previous experience managing large, transformative programs within the GxP pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Ability to navigate complex global programs, identify risks, and develop effective solutions.
  • Comfortable working with senior-level stakeholders and understanding diverse project requirements.
  • Experience using Jira, Miro, MS Office 365

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery or related field OR
  • Master's degree with 8 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery or related field OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery or related field

Certifications:

  • SAFe – SPC
  • SAFe - RTE
  • SAFe – APM

Preferred

  • Experience in clinical trials innovation or related pharmaceutical fields.
  • Senior-level consulting experience in managing large-scale programs within the pharmaceutical industry.
