Job Title: Sr. Program Manager FLSA Classification: Exempt

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred Education: Masters Degree

Degree Field: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Eng. Management)

Required Work Experience: 6-8 Years Relevant Project Management experience in Aerospace and Defense

Broad Function: Leads design team via PM Process map and responsible for day-to-day project tasking. Responsible for meeting Program customer requirements, cost goals, and schedule. Provides direction, leadership and development for assigned teams. Customer Point of Contact and can manage Tier 1 customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Management & Program Execution

  • Utilizes & follows standard project scheduling and planning tools in accordance with TTM Program Management processes, TTM ISO-9002, & AS9100 requirements.
  • Develops high-level plans to meet both project and product cost targets. Reports progress to appropriate management levels.
  • Participates in or leads project meetings and design reviews, and tracks progress of day to day commitments
  • Monitors project progress vs. staffing plan and reports any resource constraints.
  • Make recommendations on changes or work-arounds.
  • Ensures that problems and issues are dealt with in a structured manner, using accepted problem solving and root cause analysis. Ensures appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Is responsible for ensuring all known or potential risks are identified and mitigation and retirement activities are incorporated into the project plan. Incorporates the documented project management process into all projects.
  • Responsible for the accuracy/validity of cost models, and sets costs targets, management reserves are established and implemented. Responsible for assigned program commitments and financial objectives are obtained.
  • Typical Project/program Scope is ~$5M or less

  • Provides aid and mentorship in the development of Project Management I & II personnel by providing coaching, guidance, and training as assigned or required.

  • Ability to lead team, in collaboration with Quality Engineering, through structured problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis resulting in correct identification and resolution of the root cause.
  • Actively pursues opportunities to expand job-related knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of the product's operation and key performance parameters, as well as the processes and materials used to manufacture responsible products. Basic understanding of the customer's application and key performance parameters.
  • Ability to facilitate a technical review in conjunction with Engineering/PEM.

Communication

  • Able to effectively convey pertinent information verbally and in writing to project team and others in a constructive manner.
  • Has strong listening skills, the ability to run effective meetings, and efficiently convey pertinent information to the project team and others.
  • Uses his/her own and others' expertise to make effective and timely decisions. Gathers key information and knows when to escalate problems.
  • Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner; often involves manager and project team.
  • Has effective written, oral and presentation skills.

Customer & New Scope/New Business Management

  • Responsible for providing customer reporting and status, as assigned.
  • Able to handle routine customer negotiations, in collaboration with Engineering/Ops, on specs and delivery with positive results. Regularly handles internal negotiations for resources and priorities.
  • Responsible for execution of customer management strategy - works closely with customer personnel on project status, including technical or schedule issues, and pricing.
  • Supports the development of new business by supporting proposals via Compliance Matrices, Schedule development, review of customer req's and capturing costs for applicable reviews.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to juggle multiple complex tasks and independently make quality decisions without negative impact on others.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage complex programs that includes integration of technologies, product multi-variants, and qualification execution
  • Complies with and supports company policies and programs regarding safety, security, ISO, EEO, OSHA and the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
  • Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner; often involves manager and project team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business with 6-8 years relevant Project Management experience.
  • Customer service orientation
  • Has effective written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to hold a current U.S. Government security clearance to SECRET level.


Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accident benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid vacation & holidays. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$101,361 - $178,255

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
